Support Narryna

The objects and stories preserved at Narryna have survived because previous generations cared enough to protect them. Today, we have the privilege of continuing that work.

For almost 200 years, Narryna has been part of Hobart's story. Today, as a not-for-profit museum, we care for the historic house, gardens and collections while sharing the stories of the people who lived and worked here.

Narryna is managed by a volunteer community council (board). While it receives essential support from Arts Tasmania and the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, significant new projects are only possible through grant funding.

The ongoing preservation of Narryna relies on the generosity of our visitors, members, volunteers and supporters. Donations help us conserve collection items, maintain the historic property, develop exhibitions and educational programs, and ensure these stories remain accessible for future generations.

Every contribution, large or small, helps keep Tasmania's heritage alive.

Other ways to donate…

Donate Through the Cultural Gifts Program

Narryna welcomes donations of historically significant objects and collections through the Australian Government's Cultural Gifts Program.

The Cultural Gifts Program allows individuals and businesses to donate eligible cultural items to public collecting institutions and receive tax incentives based on an independent valuation of the gift.

Donated objects can help strengthen Narryna's collection and preserve important stories of Tasmania's history for future generations.

If you are considering donating an object, collection or archival material, please contact us to discuss its suitability and significance.

Leave a Lasting Legacy

A bequest to Narryna is an opportunity to help preserve Tasmania's heritage for future generations.

By remembering Narryna in your Will, you can contribute to the ongoing care of the house, collections and educational programs that bring history to life.

We encourage anyone considering a bequest to discuss their intentions with us in confidence.
